Loop Joint

A local audio workbench that makes the hidden join between a loop’s last and first samples visible, measurable, and easier to move.

The problem

Sound designers and editors making repeatable ambience, music, or texture loops often hunt by ear for the point where an out sample can wrap to an in sample without an audible click. A timeline shows the two cuts far apart, which hides the join that actually matters. Loop Joint turns that discontinuity into one operating surface: place the two cuts, inspect outgoing and incoming samples on a shared seam scope, read an endpoint-and-slope score, scan a bounded neighborhood for a quieter out point, audition the selected loop, and copy a precise cut note. The scalar score is guidance rather than a perceptual guarantee; listening remains the final gate. Audio is decoded into ephemeral browser memory and is never uploaded. There is no account, persistence, paid API, tracking SDK, outbound email, advertising, payment, or destructive operation. Production deployment dpl_DRcnB2pRMwJitwXaWY6VVjxfMCM3 reached READY before independent Foundry artifact, HTTPS marker, and six-step behavior checks passed at the stable alias.

Architecture

Key decisions

01

Draw the wrap, not two distant cuts

The dark scope places the final outgoing samples directly beside the first incoming samples, so the hidden boundary becomes the product’s primary object.

02

Keep scoring narrow and honest

The tested score combines endpoint amplitude and immediate slope only. The interface explicitly keeps auditioning as the final quality gate rather than claiming perceptual certainty.

03

Search nearby instead of rewriting the loop

One bounded scan moves only the out point around the editor’s chosen region, preserving intent while exposing a lower-discontinuity candidate.

04

Use a warm mastering bench

Bone paper, lacquer black, vermilion and acid traces, whisper-weight display type, and hard rules create a focused instrument without cloning a branded audio product.
