Crop Choir

A browser-local crop rehearsal surface that turns one focal pin into consistent 16:9, 1:1, 4:5, and 9:16 art direction.

The problem

A single marketing image is routinely forced through landscape heroes, square feed tiles, portrait posts, and mobile stories. Teams then tune four unrelated crops and lose the subject between breakpoints. Crop Choir accepts a built-in specimen or one local image, lets the operator place a single focal pin, previews the same intent across four common aspect ratios, and emits a portable object-position value plus normalized focal-point JSON. Its own production copy limits image input to 15 MB and describes the workflow as local with no upload.

Store one intent, not four independent crops

The focal point is the durable decision. Landscape, square, portrait, and story previews all consume the same normalized coordinate, reducing breakpoint drift while keeping every target visible before handoff.

Use CSS-native output

The production golden path loaded the built-in specimen and exposed the same position as both a CSS object-position percentage and normalized x/y JSON. The result can move into a stylesheet or CMS without exporting four derivative image files.

Do not claim subject detection

The aperture score measures distance from frame edges and the product labels it as composition guidance. Crop Choir leaves subject choice with the operator instead of presenting a geometric heuristic as computer vision.

Separate production proof from unavailable source proof
